Content, other than Static Content, that appears in the main body of your site is stored in Categories within Sections.
To best understand this concept, think of a Section as a filing cabinet, a Category is a drawer within the filing cabinet
and a content item is a document in the drawer. With this illustration in mind, you will probably want just one section and a couple of categories to start.
To create a new Section, go to Content < Section Manager. Click the New button. Type in a name for the Section and a description if desired. Click the Save button.

To create a new section, log in to the back end of your site. Go to: Content > Section Manager Click the New button. Type in a Section Title and Section Name (both fields must be filled in. The title and name can be the same) Click the Save button. To create a new category, log in to the back end of your site. Go to Content > Category Manager Click the New button. Type in a Category Title and Category Name (both these fields must be filled in. They may be named differently, but the Category Name is the one that will show as a title on your front end). A description may be added in the text box. This information will be for your reference only and will not show on the front end of your site. Click the Save button.
Note: a Category/Section will not show on the front end of a site if there is no content in the Category. You may either create new content (see the Tutorial Basic Features > Creating a Content Item ) OR go to an existing content item and change the section and category you want the content to be in. |
