Weblinks Component

You may want to share related website links with your visitors.  The Weblinks component allows this option.

The first step is to create a Weblink Category.

Log in to the back end of your site.

From the menu bar select: Components > Web Links > Weblink Categories

Click the new button.

Type in a name and title for the category (example: Orange Cats).

Click the Save button.

Next, Create a new weblink item

From the menu bar select: Components > Web Links > Weblink Items

Click the New button.

In the Weblink screen, type a Name in the Name Box

Select the category you created in step 1, from the drop down box.

Copy the URL of the site you want to show as a link.

Check the Published button.

Click the save button.

Next you need to create a menu link to the Weblinks component.

From the menu bar select: Menu > mainmenu

Click on the new button.

At this point you may choose to present a visitor with a list of all the weblink categories, or just a list of weblinks in only one category.

If you want to show a list of all weblink categories, click Component.

For a list of weblinks in one category, click Table - Weblink Category. (In the Fat Cat example, I have chosen to show a list of weblinks in one category)

Tip: add both types of menu items, view the results of each and delete one later on.

Click the next button.

Type in an applicable menu Name, and choose the appropriate Category.

If you would like your links menu item to be a main menu item, in the Parent Item box, choose Top.  If you would like it to be a sub-menu item, choose the menu item you wish it to be under.  In the example below, I chose Home to be the parent item, so my Links to Orange Cats will be a sub-menu item under the main menu item Home.

Click on the Save button.

Check out your changes.  Go to the front end of your site and refresh your page.
